Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
· Cost containment through effective planning, no rework, availability of materials and equipment
· Construct engineering installations according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
· Maintain and repair engineering equipment according to agreed standards and schedules.
· Effective and timeous stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
· Effective self and team management in alignment with the company's values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· Section 26 Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board)
· Trade Certificate through a registered body, e.g:
(i) Olifantsfontein, pre 1994
(ii) ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park
(iii)GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
· Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
· Valid First Aid Certificate
· Valid Code EB driver's license
· Minimum 5 year of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
· Minimum 5 year of trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic
· Knowledge of different diesel engines (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
· Knowledge of different diesel injecting systems (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
