Introduction
Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Financial Accountant to be placed in Head Office Bedfordview. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Manager.
The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effective supervision of the daily / monthly tasks of a team of financial administrators
- Supervise and manage all processing functions with the finance sub-departments, comprising of debtors invoicing, cashbook, creditors, bookkeeping and fixed assets
- Preparation of forecasts/budgets and timely submissions to group
- Effective, timeous and accurate preparation, management and review of financial reports
- Effective internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth financial workflows
- Efficient and effective delivery of financial accountant outputs within datelines
- Efficient and effective compliance with controls and statutory standards and regulations
- Effective self and team management and alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives
- Self and team understand and adhere to statutory regulations and Cementation Africa policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- BCom Honours in Accounting or equivalent [essential]
- Registered CA [SA] [essential]
- Proficient in MS Office [Advanced Excel essential]
- Knowledge of any ERP systems, preferably JDE
- Hyperion system [preferred]
- Insight system [preferred]
- Ability to supervise a team
- Sound analytical, logical reasoning, judgement and decision making skills
- Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations
- Ability to plan and organise efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to engage at all levels
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Minimum 2 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in the mining sector
- Completed articles with one of SA’s big four reputable firms
- Experience in corporate taxation and VAT
- Experience supervising a team of financial processing staff
