Introduction
Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Risk Coordinator to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Safety Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•    Facilitate enterprise risk management processes
•    Perform risk identification and corrective action planning
•    Monitor operational compliance against standards
•    Maintain and manage electronic Safety management system
•    Drive neuro - safety interventions
•    Lead incident management and root cause investigations
•    Support safe and healthy working environments 

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
•    National Diploma NQF level 6 in Safety or Risk Management
•    Relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in Risk, Compliance, Safety, Law or Business Management (advantageous)
•    COMSOC or Safety Officer’s course (SOC) I & II
•    Excellent planning, organising and monitoring skills
•    Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Good communication skills in English
•    Valid EB driver’s License
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
•    At least 5 years’ experience as Safety/Risk Coordinator
•    Exposure to mining sector advantageous
•    Have a sound knowledge of Risk Management processes and systems
•    Good understanding of project management, project cycles, from tender phase to site completion
•    Medically fit for underground visits
•    Demonstrated application of root cause analysis methodologies.
•    Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams or influencing across departments.
